Improving the quality of pupils' preparation for the Practical Matriculation Examination through tutoring

The diploma thesis "Improving students' readiness for the Practical Matriculation Examination through tutoring at a selected secondary vocational school" focuses on improving the success rate of students at the Secondary Hotel School in Teplice, through voluntary studying. The goal of the thesis is to describe what methods and forms of teaching exist, to describe the success rate of two groups of students in the Practical Matriculation Examination (one group used the offer of voluntary studying, the other did not) and to verify the benefits of studying seen by the students themselves. In order to fulfill this goal, in the theoretical part they focus mainly on questions of general didactics, specifically didactic principles, organizational forms of teaching, teaching methods and didactic tools. Then informal, formal and unformal education, especially tutoring. Given the objective, the empirical part will be planned as an action research design. First, the tutoring itself is described, the nature of the practical matriculation exam at a selected secondary hotel school, and then two groups of students are characterized - one of them used the tutoring and one did not. Návrh exkurze pro žáky SOŠ

This bachelor final thesis deals with the plans of the possible excursions for the secondary school students. There are basically three aims of the theoretical part. They are: to describe organisation forms of education; to define an excursion as one of the particular forms of education and to describe the ways of its use during the vocational training at the secondary school. Didactic rules and methods of organising excursions are specified there too. The methods which I used for processing the theoretical part are: studying the special resources; making the excerpts and their analysis and synthesis. The aim of the practical part is to suggest excursions for the secondary school students (Střední škola obchodní a služeb SČMSD, Žďár nad Sázavou s.r.o.) the branch of Sports and Reconditioning masseur. The proposals of excursions, is based on the interests among the second- grade students who were addressed. The questionnaire was used as a form of research among them.
Use of co-teaching at lower secondary school

The diploma thesis deals with co-teaching at the second stage of primary school, specifically with its advantages, pitfalls and possibilities, and it shows how to apply this type of teaching in class. The theoretical part is not only about co-teaching, but also about other organizational forms of teaching and it is elaborated with the help of professional literature. It also deals with the position of the teacher in tandem, as it is an integral component leading to successful mastery of co-teaching. The practical part is based on qualitative research, which is based on an in-depth interview with teachers with practical experience of co-teaching. Furthermore, it was based on a group interview with students who also have this experience, but from the opposite perspective. Subsequently, the research is extended by the author's own observations. The results of the work show how the Czech system is not adapted to this form of teaching yet and the thesis describes the steps that could lead to achieving sufficient conditions for its successful implementation.
Methods of critical thinking in literary education at elementary schoool

The thesis deals with methods of critical thinking in the teaching of literary education at the 1st level of elementary school. The work is divided into three parts - theoretical, practical and research. The theoretical section defines the concept of literary education and characterizes it in the current RVP ZV. It also explains and classifies concepts such as teaching methods and organisational forms. It defines the concepts of critical thinking and the three-phase model of learning E-U-R. The practical part deals with preparations for individual hours using selected methods of critical thinking. The research section maps, based on a questionnaire to teachers, the use of critical thinking methods in teaching reading and literary education in 2. - 5th year of high school.

Teaching Prosocial Skills at Primary Schools

The Master thesis "Teaching Prosocial Skills at Primary Schools" deals with the theory related to the prosocial behaviour and further aims to describe present possibilities and methods of teaching prosocial skills at primary schools. The author, in the theoretical part, characterizes and analyses prosocial behaviour, according to its types and forms, outlines basic theories of prosocial behavior and its determinants. The author further gives examples of how schools are able to incorporate teaching prosocial skills in school curricula. The author, in the empiric part, introduces opinions, attitudes, ideas and previous experiences of teachers and students with this education, using interviews and analyses of school curricula and minimum preventive program.
eTwinning as a form of teaching classes from Pedagogy branch at secondary schools

The diploma thesis is focused on the project-based learning. Specifically, it deals with the possibility to utilize the project-based learning within eTwinning for teaching students of educational fields at high school. The goal of the work was a theoretical analysis of the problem as well as a prototype of a project which focuses on pre-school and extra curricular education. The methodology used in this work is based on the participatory-action research. First, a form-based survey was conducted to find out conditions and suggestions about the structure of a project within eTwining. The survey respondents were teachers of pedagogy and educational fields. Next, the researcher, author of the thesis, prototyped a project that was consequently reviewed by three teachers out of the survey respondents. Also, these teachers were interviewed for their opinions about the project prototype as well as about utilizing the project-based learning within eTwinning when teaching students of pedagody and its fields at high schools. The result of the research showed that high schools teaching fields of pedagody would have only minor issues with the project-based learning within eTwinning. The bachelor thesis deals with an excursion included in the practical training for an educational subject focused on Social work, and its subsequent application in the training of specialized subjects, and in the students´ career and professional orientation. The goal of the theoretical part is to define the excursion and its inclusion in the education system for professional training. This part of the thesis is aimed at the characteristic of the excursion types, phases, and the requisites necessary to arrange for the excursion. The methods applied in the thesis theoretical part include the studying of expert sources, their analysis, and subsequent synthesis with resulting own opinions and attitudes. The goal of the practical part is to submit plans of three excursions at selected institutions, the activity of which relates to the education subject of “Social work”. The excursion plans are followed by work sheets pointed at fixation of the subject, for understanding the institutions´ mission, and for evaluation. The contribution of the planned excursions has been evaluated by a pedagogue of a secondary vocational school. The in-time evaluation of the excursion plans could allow for their potential usability directly in practical pedagogy. The methods applied at elaboration of the practical part are analyses of the particular institution´s documents and of the education subject “Social work”, a subsequent synthesis, application of the knowledge obtained at the excursion planning, and a structured interview with a pedagogue. Based on the information obtained from the theoretical and practical parts of the bachelor thesis, recommendations for the practical pedagogy have been formulated.
